Meet Dr. Jes
Dr. Jes Hazel has been a practicing doctor in Chicago, Illinois since 2010. They hold double doctorates in Chiropractic and Naturopathic medicine from National University of Health Sciences in Chicago.
As the child of a renowned chiropractor, Dr. Hazel was exposed to traditional and alternative medicine from a young age. During their studies, Dr. Hazel was selected to apprenticed to Dr. Thomas Solecki, at which time she leaned to work with special cases in rehabilitation, functional medicine, and sports medicine. She also worked for several years in workers compensation, conducting extensive research, working in client advocacy, and treating patients with a wide variety of work-related injury and rehabilitation.
Dr. Hazel’s private practice specializes on whole-body wellness including physical medicine, nutritional counseling, and prevention, focusing on the importance of integrating conventional and new age or holistic techniques to improve both the mind and the body in order to prevent illness and ease stress.
Professionally, Dr. Hazel is a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and Illinois Chiropractic Society (ICS). Dr. Hazel also works extensively within the queer community as an active member of the Chicago Queer Front and is also a proud supporter of She100, a women’s philanthropic group donating to the queer community. In addition to the queer community, Dr. Hazel makes charitable donations to an organization called the Cornerstone Hope Foundation.
Outside of the professional realm, Dr. Hazel’s interests include walking, biking, hiking and getting out into nature. Dr. Hazel’s main career objective is to help shift your perspective of health and wellness and their future goals include creating a holistic medical clinic and collaborative integrating multiple alternative modalities including chiropractic medicine, naturopathic medicine, nutrition, acupuncture, meditation, and yoga.
